It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas - Day 15

Having put our Christmas tree up at home and started to prepare for one of our most favourite times of year it only seemed right that we start to decorate the stable to Boston and his friends to enjoy.

I followed a Facebook tutorial to make some homemade decoration snow globes which we can reuse every year.

Tinsel can cause colic so I quickly rearranged the placing as Boston was particularly interested in it - perhaps he like Christmas too!

So this is all we have thus far - still need to sort the Christmas hat and num nah and bridle wear (if we ever get a saddle sorted first!).

I rolled over bleary eyes to slam the alarm off at 6.30 this morning. It was the first day back at school, for both J and I. On this day it was B's day off and day in his stable - Limited turnout over winter to preserve the fields prevents him from being turned out every single day. Good News! - Day 65

Finally a week we have been waiting for. The vet told us the great news that there were no abnormalities in Bostons blood test results. Yipee! However his symptoms have still been raising their ugly head. Sigh! My very knowledgeable friend (aka the guru) at the yard suggested that B could be eating the kernels in his straw bedding which would be difficult to digest and therefore causing him to purge - hence the watery and consistent diarrhoea. We decided to test this theory (luckily before the vet called) and low and behold B shoved his schnoz into that straw and was totally high and loving life as he munched his way through it. I asked the vet if this could be a cause for the reaction and he agreed it may be likely but not necessarily linked. I asked about changing his bedding to shavings - which I have ever wanted to do for several reasons. 1 - the expense, 2 - I've not had much experience mucking out shavings and the ones I have been like sawdust which I disliked,

I don't generally play the lottery, maybe purchase a scratch card once a year or something, so imagine my surprise when I received an email confirming that I had won a competition I entered on the off chance on facebook!
